Sedation Dentistry

Local anesthesia, laughing gas or oral sedation to help nervous patients stay calm and comfortable.

Many people feel nervous about a root canal. You do not have to just push through it. Founders Endodontics offers several ways to help you stay calm and comfortable, for adults, children and patients with special needs.

Your options

  • Local anesthesia. Used for every procedure, it numbs the tooth and the tissue around it.
  • Nitrous oxide. Often called laughing gas, it is breathed through a small nose piece. It works quickly and wears off soon after treatment, so you can leave without lingering effects.
  • Oral conscious sedation. A prescribed medication taken before your visit helps you feel relaxed while staying awake. You will need someone to drive you to and from the appointment.

Choosing what is right for you

Tell the team how you feel about dental visits when you call. Dr. Fitzgibbons will review your health history and recommend the option that fits you and your procedure.
